What we believe
A statement we share, not a creed that binds
Seventh Day Baptists consider liberty of thought under the guidance of the Holy Spirit essential to Christian belief and practice. We encourage the unhindered study and open discussion of Scripture, and uphold the individual’s freedom of conscience.
God
We believe in one God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — creator and sustainer of all things, who loves us and calls us into relationship.
Scripture
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and our authority for faith and practice. We encourage its unhindered study and open discussion.
Salvation
Salvation is God’s gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who lived, died, and rose again for us.
The Sabbath
We keep the seventh day holy — a weekly gift of rest and worship, observed from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
Baptism
We practice believer’s baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Christ.
Covenant community
The church is a family of families bound by covenant — we promise to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
“Our Statement of Belief is a declaration of what we hold in common — a part of who we are as a people.”
